Longtime Omaha restaurant announces plans to close

Petrow’s Restaurant will close in mid-December

Petrow’s restaurant, which has served Omaha customers for nearly 70 years, announced Sunday it will close for good on December 14th.In a news release, the restaurant said owners Nick and Michelle Petrow have decided to retire from the restaurant business. They are third-generation operators of the restaurant near 60th & Center, taking-over the family business in 1992.Petrow’s opened in 1950 as a drive-in, and remains known for its ice cream treats.In the news release, the Petrow family expressed gratitude to their customers, employess and the people of Omaha.The restaurant said customers who have gift cards may redeem them for cash by contacting the restaurant at [email protected] by December 31st.
