CHATHAM — A South Side institution is moving a little farther south in the new year.
The owners of BJ’s Market And Bakery closed the location at 8734 S. Stony Island Ave. in November and are now putting finishing touches on their new space in Stony Island Plaza, 1737 E. 95th St., ahead of its opening.
The restaurant will take over over the space formerly occupied by Little China, another restaurant that closed earlier this year.
It’s been a productive year for BJ’s owner John Meyer, who recently opened the second Rouxster’s Cookhouse inside of Mariano’s in Park Ridge. The Bronzeville Rouxster’s location opened in March of this year.
A grand opening date has yet to be announced, but people looking to get their soul food fix can still head to their 79th Street location in Auburn Gresham.
