Oakland Restaurant Week: The best deals for $40 or less – East Bay Times

Restaurant News

Now through Jan. 20, Oakland Restaurant Week is celebrating its 10th year with more than 100 restaurants offering every manner of meal, from brunch to dinner, and at just about any price point.

Looking for a $10 lunch deal or an $80 prix fixe with wine pairings? You’ll find it in Jack London Square, Rockridge, Temescal, Fruitvale and the other neighborhoods that have put Oakland on the national culinary map.

Our six picks feature some of the best deals, be it at one of the city’s newest restaurants or an old favorite presenting an off-menu special. Some restaurants require advanced booking, so check the Oakland Restaurant Week website. Note that restaurants marked with an asterisk are donating a portion of their proceeds to the Alameda County Community Food Bank.

Nido’s Backyard

This margarita paradise near Jack London Square opened in 2019 and is offering lunch for $10 and a pre-fixe dinner for $30. Lunch includes garbanzo fritos, two tacos with rice and beans and an amaranth candy bite for dessert — what a deal, eh? Four-course dinner features optional mezcal pairings for another $20. 104 Oak St.; www.backyardoakland.com
