Louis Vuitton is crossing over into hospitality by opening its first-ever restaurant, located in Japan. According to WWD, the café and restaurant will open to the public next month at the house’s new Osaka flagship.
Le Café V will feature a menu by Japanese chef Yosuke Sug. The restaurant, which also includes an adjoining bar and a spacious terrace, will be located on the top floor of Louis Vuitton’s Osaka outpost. Positioned next to the bar will be Sugalabo V, which will serve dinner to guests utilizing an open kitchen mirroring the Tokyo branch of Sugalabo.
News of Louis Vuitton’s Japanese restaurant arrives as architect Peter Marino, who has designed stores for LV and Dior, among other luxury brands, confirms he is working on the first Paris branch of Langosteria for LVMH. Langosteria is a high-end seafood restaurant from Milan.
Additionally, Louis Vuitton’s chairman and chief executive officer, Michael Burke, has suggested that LV will be opening other restaurants, and hotels, in the future.
Le Café V is scheduled to open February 15, following the opening of Louis Vuitton’s new Osaka boutique on February 1.
