Dine Out Long Beach, Restaurant & Cocktail Week will bring seven days of meal deals and drink specials when it returns to the city for its fifth year Feb. 23-29.

As part of the marketing event, dozens of restaurants all over Long Beach will offer prix fixe lunch and dinner menus running $10-$65 per meal.

There’s going to be a lot of food and drinks to choose from, so to make it easier to decide which places to try out, here are three ways to experience Dine Out Long Beach, from checking out new restaurants to eating on the water to getting drinks made especially for this event, since after all this is also a cocktail week.

1. Check out new restaurants

Hungry Angelina, 6400 Pacific Coast Highway at the 2nd & PCH shopping complex. 562-247-7272 or matthewkenneycuisine.com/hungry-angelina.

Details: This vegan restaurant is one of the many new eateries at the new 2nd & PCH retail complex. For Dine Out Long Beach, people can get two-course $20 lunches with options including cauliflower flatbread or a vegan burger. The $40 three-course dinner includes tomato tartare, a mushroom sub and mango mochi cake for dessert.

ReMix Kitchen Bar, 3860 Worsham Ave. at the LBX retail center. 4150 McGowen St. thelongbeachexchange.com.

Details: This new American fusion restaurant is opening at the LBX complex on Feb. 23 just in time for Dine Out. The menu includes dishes like pork cheek adobo and chicken liver toast as part of the $20 lunch special. ReMix will start serving dinner specials on Feb. 24 and diners can order things like the house made agnolotti pasta and duck breast as part of the $40 dinner deal.

2. Dine on the water

London Boat Rentals, 186 N. Marina Drive. 562-598-2628 or londonboatrental.com.

Details: London Boat Rentals is partnering with Dine Out Long Beach to offer discounted Duffy boat rentals for $70 per hour (usually $89 per hour) on Feb. 23 and Feb. 27-29. But you can’t eat the savings, so to make it a real food event several restaurants will be offering picnic style dinners to eat on the water. Salud Juice, 1944 E. 4th St., for example is offering a Dine + Duffy menu that includes any lunch bowl and a juice for $20 while the Hi-Lo Liquor Market, 707 E. Ocean Blvd., will put together a cheese and charcuterie platter with beer and wine to-go. The price for this is yet to be determined.

3. Drink it up

EJ’s Pub,4306 Atlantic Ave. 562-424-5000 or ejspubbk.com.

Details: You haven’t had coffee properly unless you’ve sipped Irish coffee and The Proper is EJ’s version of this classic. The Proper ($10) is made with Proper No. Twelve whiskey, dark roasted coffee and topped with homemade whipped cream.

Fuego at Hotel Maya, 700 Queensway Drive. 562-481-3910 or hotelmayalongbeach.com.

Details: Besides offering a romantic view of the bay, Fuego will also offer old souls some spirited comfort with its Dine Out special, the Alma Antigua. This $14 drink is made with anejo tequila, pomegranate juice honey and lemon, so it should go down smooth but still pack a kick.
