Brio Tuscan Grille, a fixture at Brookwood Village for almost two decades, has closed.
The restaurant specialized in Italian dishes in a white table cloth, upscale, yet casual atmosphere. It is listed as permanently closed on Google, its web page at the Brookwood Village website is disabled, and Birmingham is no longer included in the chain’s list of locations.
The company has restaurants in 13 states.
Its Birmingham design featured picture windows facing Lakeshore Drive, patio seating and an open kitchen with a wood-fed oven. The Birmingham location opened in 2002 as part of $50 million renovation of Brookwood Village, occupying a prominent 7,200-square-foot position in front of the mall entrance alongside Shades Creek.
