While the COVID-19 lockdown continues in Maharashtra, it doesn’t mean that eating out is now a distant dream. Good news is, some restaurants are offering delivery while maintaining proper hygiene. Take a look at the list.
Ishaara, Lower Parel
Craving your favourite butter chicken? No problem. Ishaara the modern Indian restaurant in Lower Parel is delivering this iconic dish with the subtle balance of tanginess and a velvety texture. A total of 29 items from the menu are being delivered including the robust Amritsari fish tikka, aromatic beetroot and papad seekh, spicy gunpowder baby potatoes, tantalising raw mango prawn curry and delicately flavoured sufiyani chicken. What’s more… the delivery menu prices have been slashed.
FLEA Bazaar Cafe, Kamala Mills, Lower Parel
It may not be possible to visit this bazaar right now but cheesy pizzas, moist pastas, pillowy dim sums, sublime melt-in-your-mouth Tunday kebabs, juicy burgers and much more can be relished at home. If you are looking for recommendations the fettuccine basil pesto pasta, 4 cheese and wilted greens pizza, guacamole and blackbean burger, crispy double cheese chicken burger, chicken lollipop, chicken burnt garlic fried rice and veg schezwan hakka noodles are stellar. There are fresh juices and smoothies on offer. FLEA Bazaar Cafe is also delivering pre-made mixers to go into your signature cocktails.
Smoke House Deli, Pali Hill
This whimsical European cafe is now delivering its signature meals to your doorstep. We can’t recommend the aglio olio pepperoncino spaghetti, Asian spiced slow roasted chicken, Mac n cheese, spicy arrabbiata and the premium feast boxes enough! And if you are feeling indulgent, the crème brulee and baked philly cheese cake beckons. The restaurant will start delivering its DIY meals kits soon.
SOCIAL, Carter Road and Powai
Nothing can comfort the soul and soothe the stomach like the humble khichdi at Social . But if the thought of toiling away in the kitchen puts you off, then this delectable one pot dish is just a call away at Social. The steaming hot dish comes topped with perfectly browned onions, papad and kuchumber. There is also chili paneer black pepper bento box, butter chicken biryani and lemon butter chili basa to indulge in. The restaurant is also delivering pre-made mixers just in case you want to fix yourself a cocktail at home.
There’s no better feeling in the whole world than a warm pizza box on your lap. This triangle-shaped delicacy nestled under a blanket of mozzarella cheese holds a special place in the heart of many. If you are a fan of the smoky wood-fired variety then 1441 Pizzeria should be on your speed dial. You can always craft your own pizza with unlimited toppings, cheeses and sauces but why bother when there is Meat Cravers pizza on the menu. This one is loaded with mozzarella, six variants of chicken along with crunchy onion and garlic. The smoky dough balls drenched in cheese and flavoured with garlic and chili flakes make for amazing side dishes. Don’t miss the dark chocolate mousse.
Out Of The Blue
Craving some keto meals? Out Of The Blue in Khar is doing some fabulous keto dishes. The cottage cheese with cheesy paprika sauce and grilled chicken with rosemary jus are some of the best sellers. But it’s the roast chicken in their inhouse barbeque sauce which has us drooling. There is a variety of pasta, burgers, pizza slices and sandwiches to satisfy those 5 pm hunger pangs. Desserts include the sinfully delicious Kahlua and Baileys mousse and the gooey flourless chocolate fudge. The restaurant is open until 4 am for delivery.

There is no such thing as too much bread. This artisan bakery is home delivering freshly baked sour dough, loaves, whole wheat pav, crackers and lavash. The Pain Au Levain (sourdough) amped up with walnuts and raisins is a work of art. The baguette it perfect on its own, dipped in olive oil, or topped with some tomatoes and cheese. Their croissants make the perfect teatime companions. They are also doing cakes like banana walnut, fresh orange cake, red velvet, chocolate almond and vanilla pound cake. The brand is adopting a “No Contact” delivery method, wherein the package will not be handed to you, but left at your doorstep.
Via Bombay, Chembur
This restaurant with a 80s vibe is delivering what its most popular for—diligently put together Sindhi specials like Sindhi mutton curry and dal pakwan. Other regional gems worth indulging in include the sev tamatar ki subzi with methi thepla, pind de chole with kulcha, kadhi pakoda and masale bhat with koshambir and papad. The newly introduced kathi rolls wrapped in roomali roti seem made for the lockdown period. We also recommend giving the biryanis and tandoori dishes a try.
