At least 16 people, who were “high-risk” contacts of a Covid-19 positive pizza delivery boy in Delhi, tested negative for the virus, said South Delhi District Magistrate Brij Mishra on Monday.

All of these people were tested as they were at risk of getting infected from the pizza delivery boy from Savitri Nagar in the national capital’s Malviya Nagar area.

More than 72 families had been quarantined after the pizza delivery agent from the national capital tested positive for Covid-19.

Along with the families, there were at least 17 colleagues of the delivery agent who were also placed under quarantine.

At the time when he was tested positive, he was working with a local pizza delivery outlet and had reported showed symptoms of Covid-19 for around 20 days. He is now undergoing treatment at a Delhi hospital.

The local pizza delivery place where he worked was also ordered to stay shut for 14 days as a precautionary measure.

As the situation stands, Delhi has over 2,000 coronavirus cases with 45 deaths. Meanwhile, India has registered over 17,000 Covid-19 positive cases and the death toll has surpassed 500.
