Nuno’s Tacos & VegMex Grill
Comfort food is gaining a whole new meaning during this time, and Nunos Tacos is serving up a heavy dose of it. The vegan Mexican restaurant is packaging up everything from vegan tamales and krunch wraps, to fire roasted poblano enchiladas, to fusion items like falafel tortas.

While the DeSoto plant-based smoothie bar Peace Love & Eatz has closed its doors temporarily, chef James McGee has switched gears, focusing on his food truck, OG Vegan. But he’s not going far. The OG Vegan Food Truck is located in the parking lot of the Grow DeSoto Market Place. Customers can expect a rotating menu of items like jackfruit tacos and the Texas Burger, a homemade black bean patty topped with smoked jackfruit, house barbecue sauce, spinach, pickles, crispy jalapeños and grilled onions.

Recipe Oak Cliff
Tucked away off Interstate 35 is Tisha Crear’s plant-based haven, Recipe Oak Cliff. The space, which is already set up as a to-go establishment, is a revolving door of regulars grabbing a vegan barbecue jackfruit plate (with the most delicious green banana salad) or newbies sampling juices, or holistic healers purchasing wellness shots. And you can still get their goodies to-go. On the weekends, Crear opens up her kitchen to Vegan Vibrations (they frequented the Dallas Farmers Market pre-pandemic), who sell items from noon to 5 p.m.

For years, Sanfoka has been the go-to spot for vegan food in South Dallas. The restaurant’s mix of vegan and non-vegan options allows for meat eaters and those following a plant-based diet to share the same table. Some of the favorites at Sankofa include the spaghetti with vegan crumbles, the vegan po’ boy, and the loaded vegan nachos with house-made coconut milk-based vegan cheese ― all good enough to trick your taste buds.

Spiral Diner & Bakery
Spiral Diner proves diner food to-go is very essential during a pandemic, as all three locations ― Dallas, Fort Worth and Denton ― remain open for takeout. Like many other restaurants, the 18-year-old business is luring in guests with daily specials like the Frito Gordito ― house-made chili with Beyond Meat, their infamous nacho cheese, mac and cheese, and vegan sour cream served on a bed of Fritos, of course.

TLC Vegan Kitchen
V-Eats chef Troy Gardner’s latest vegan concept ― TLC Vegan Kitchen ― couldn’t have come at a better time. The digital, delivery-only scratch vegan kitchen offers a wide selection of options like the NOLA Bowl wrap ― with blackened vegan shrimp, raw spinach, quinoa salad, organic pear tomatoes, spicy cream and walnuts.

Vegan Food House
“We’re always taking suggestions to become better like making our sauce available on Uber,” Vegan Food House writes in an Instagram post. The quaint Bishop Arts restaurant is adjusting to the shift by putting customer needs first. That includes adding new menu items like the Southern Dinner Catch with fried oyster mushrooms, and chips and queso.
