Yauatcha Mumbai located in Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) is considered to be one of the popular restaurants in Mumbai and amidst the coronavirus lockdown, the team at Yauatcha was working hard with their home delivery orders. However, the management team at this restaurant on Sunday, May 18, 2020, announced that one of their team members has tested positive to coronavirus (COVID-19). Keeping this in mind, the restaurant will now remain closed.
Run by KA Hospitality, the team at Yauatcha Mumbai took to Instagram to share the statement, which read, “Inspite of taking all precautionary measures and ensuring the utmost level of hygiene, we are saddened to announce that a team member has tested positive for Covid-19 on 16th May 2020. We are personally reaching out to everyone who has ordered from us in the last 14 days to let them know of the same, so they can take necessary medical advice should they indicate any symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath) and/or self-quarantine. The central kitchen is closed indefinitely for deep sanitisation and the full team is in self-isolation and being tested. At the moment, no other team members are experiencing symptoms but as soon we have more information, we will share it here.” the statement posted on social media read.
Several restaurants in Mumbai began home deliveries in different areas of Mumbai and they were asked to strictly follow the rules and social distancing norms. It is said that the team at Yauatcha had followed the same by giving its team members the necessary kits for sanitation. Safety and cleanliness were always maintained in the restaurant.
Officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) are trying to trace customers and the delivery staff, and upon identifying them, their contact details will be collected for further investigation. It is reported that the restaurant delivered in different areas between Colaba and Andheri.
Ever since the lockdown began, restaurants in Mumbai have shut down their operations temporarily. However, in a recent interview with Mumbai Live, many Mumbai-based restaurateurs shared their concerns about the lockdown effect on the F&B business.
