Though several problems might lay superficially, many skin issues are actually deep-rooted. 

They occur from inside the body and often they are signs telling you that your body wants something or lacks something. One of the most common skin issues is acne. As a teenager, though skin issues can be linked to hormones, it can also be caused by several factors, and some of it can be because of your diet. 

Having a well-balanced and healthy diet contributes to the overall well-being. A nutrition-filled diet may be the solution to clear skin, although the topic is quite controversial with acne, when it comes to having a longer life, a clean high-quality diet does give you benefits. 

A healthy diet mainly comprises of all those food items that directly provide nourishment and nutrients to your body. But there are other food items that we need to stay away from, whether they contribute to clear skin or not. These need to out of your daily consumption.

Alcohol 

Although some alcoholic drinks have been allegedly good for the body, in small doses, in general, alcohol seems to be bad for your skin. Alcohol tends to make you lose heat more readily from blood vessel dilation. And this, in turn, makes you dehydrated which can lead to dry skin. 

Cheese

If you’re someone who doesn’t see acne as the main cause of your skin, then cheese might be good for you. However, for those who suffer from acne, you might want to avoid cheese. Though it is healthy, cheese is a part of dairy and dairy products increase oil production in the skin, which lead to blocked pores. 

Coffee

This might be heartbreaking but you need to avoid too much caffeine. A lot of coffee is dehydrating and dries out the skin. If, however, you decide to drink coffee, make sure to drink lots of water afterwards. 

Doughnuts

These sweet treats are actually not good for the skin as they contain sugar and are a part of high-glycemic foods. High-glycemic foods contain sugar which glycates collagen, thus, leading to premature ageing. 

Fruit  juice

We know this might come as a shocker, but those bottles containing fruit juice that you buy from the market, are actually not good for you. Juices which are used as cleansing agents for the skin contain high amounts of sugar. In some cases, all the fibre is extracted from the fruit and a high concentration of sugar is left behind. 

Gluten

Though most people are absolutely fine eating gluten and carbs, there is a population that is allergic to it. This compound causes inflammation which shows up as acne on the face. If you have acne-prone skin or any autoimmune skin condition, you might want to keep away from gluten. 

Soda drinks

Soda has crazy amounts of sugar that can cause havoc on your skin. Too much sugar causes ageing and makes your skin lacklustre while speeding up the process of wrinkles. Of all the foods that can speed up ageing, unnatural sources of sugar are the worst. 

Deep-fried

Anything that is deep-fried shouldn’t be in your diet. Though we all love french fries, those fried chicken, and other fried street food, it leads to excess oil production in the skin. These food items contain hydrogenated trans fats that can have a negative impact on your complexion.
