Samosa to Space
According to a TOI report, an Indian restaurant based in the UK recently managed to launch samosa into space, which later crashed and landed in France. Going by media reports, Chai Walla, a popular and one of the best-ranked restaurants in Bath, completed this task in three attempts.
In a statement to news website UPI, the owner of the cafe, Niraj Gadher said that the whole idea was to spread some cheer and he and his team decided to send a samosa into space. “I said as a joke once that I would send a samosa into space, and then I thought during these bleak times we could all use a reason to laugh,” he says.
The whole idea turned into reality with the help of helium balloons, to which samosas were attached and it took three tries to get it right. In the first attempt, the balloons slipped from his hands, the second time they did not have enough helium, and finally in the third attempt, they got it right.
To record this one-of-its-kind activity, Gadher used a GoPro camera and a GPS tracker to follow the samosa’s journey. After a while they noticed the GPS was malfunctioning and they realized that the project was probably a failure.
Gadher and the team were happy that the act brought a smile on the face of people and he believes that the crashed samosas would have been relished by the French wildlife.
