Citco floats fresh tender for restaurant at height of 165ft – Times of India

CHANDIGARH: The UT administration has reinvited bids for a mid-air restaurant after just two companies showed interest.
One of the bids was conditional and had been turned down, leaving administration with just one bid. Accordingly, it was decided to float a fresh tender.
A pre-bid meeting will be held on January 22 and companies can submit bids till January 29, according to the new tender floated by Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation Limited (Citco) The UT had recently shortlisted open space at Leisure Valley in Sector 10 for providing the restaurant hanging in the air from a crane at a height of 165ft. Earlier, the administration was planning such a facility either at Leisure Valley in Sector 10, Sukhna Lake, Kaimbwala or new lake in Sector 42. Later, Leisure Valley was shortlisted.
The proposed restaurant will be having a capacity of 24 persons at a time. If UT administration gives permission, the company can also consider serving beer and wine.
The company, which had submitted the proposal before the administration, had proposed that it is proposing to bring the novel concept to Chandigarh. The structure will be secured by aircraftstandard safety belts on comfortable seats which can rotate a complete 180 degrees. It will take around one-and-a-half minutes for the visitors to reach the peak height of 165ft, and the same time will be taken to come down at the ground level.
One batch will stay for 40 minutes. The visitors will have to book the seats online on a given website and mobile app. The ticket pricing is yet to be finalised but it is likely to range from Ross 2,500 to Rs 4,000.Full arrangements will be made for people’s safety and security.
