FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Fort Wayne’s NBC) — While the pandemic has thrown a wrench in many things like restaurants, one Fort Wayne establishment is trying to make the best of it.
In hoping to spread the Greek culture throughout Fort Wayne, it’s called Urban Greek which will be based out of Cosmos on Lima Road.
Owner Sam Bourounis told Fort Wayne’s NBC News he and his family are trying to bring more freshness and deliciousness of authentic Greek food to share with the community.
Their grand opening will be March 2nd at 4pm. This concept will be a ghost kitchen where people can place pickup and curbside orders online, or by phone.
Bourounis says they wanted to try a new creative and initiative way for the restaurant business to develop.
He told Fort Wayne’s NBC News like many others, they’ve jumped through many hoops through this crisis, but they’re super excited to provide something different to the community.
“In light of everything that is going on with the pandemic, we decided that we wanted to start a concept of a carry out, curbside delivery service,” Bourounis said. “Fort Wayne has adapted to it so well over this, so we’re like how can we tap into that market? How can we make it easier for customers to get food? Fort Wayne needs this. Not only a carry out and curbside thing, but Fort Wayne needed a good true Greek authentic restaurant.”
He told Fort Wayne’s NBC News he hopes this concept will expand to a restaurant someday.
Business hours will be Tuesday through Saturday from 4pm to 9pm.
The number you can call is 260-494-6710 to place an order. They have four designated spots for those to wait in their cars. Once you arrive, call that number and they’ll bring the food out to you.
Urban Greek will also use delivery through Waiter on The Way and Doordash.
It’s located at 9807 Lima Road.
